I watched the love of my life die a few days ago, held his hand until his heart stopped and he took his last breath, at age 36 after a way too short battle against cancer. I feel so lost, I remembered this song suddenly and I searched for it and finally found it... "The world spins madly on" and yet I am stuck, frozen in time, looking around the flat at all the traces he left behind, as if he could walk through the door any second. So many decisions to make, so many things to do, people expect you to deal with so much, the world truly does spin madly on, but I can't move I'm paralyzed.

I am from Vaitogi. People will say this story is not the real story but there are about 4 different variations. Even this "lover" story isnt the one that is told. It gets deeper. Nonetheless, I am happy to know others admire the story.

it was probably 12-13 years ago that i watched this video obsessively as a teenager. your sense of motion, the spirit in your lines and gesture, and the choice of shading (or lack thereof) volume, motion, stylized shapes, everything - i didn't know all of this yet. but i know deep down this video was instrumental in inspiring me to get into animation. I've been working in animation for 5 years ago and i actually met you briefly probably 7 years ago. just coming here to say hi, thank you, and to express how much this video still hits me a decade+ later . <3

I am so glad I found this. I remember watching Thought of You for the first time around 2013, aged 11, in my school library, and being absolutely enchanted by the animation. However, someone had actually taken the video and set it to coldplay's gravity, and I don't remember there being credit. For years I thought it was just a fan-made animation, until the real Thought of You finally was recommended to me in 2020. I'm so glad I've got to find the real thing and hear the story behind it, it's so much better than I ever would have thought.

I lost my fiancé just under a year ago. It’s been hard and this helps me in my worst moments. You can’t even know, I wish you would do a version that is reversed I think it would be an amazing thing to see. I was an animation student and I have a very difficult time trying to distract myself from the not so awesome aspects of what has happened to me in the last year alone to the point I don’t even touch a pencil to paper. Thank you so much, you have no idea how much I appreciate your creativity. And I was introduced to your piece when I was in school to be an animator. I just can’t bring myself to draw anymore I feel like I’ve lost my ability anymore.

Every time I come back to this, it speaks to me in a different way. It's been a few years but having recently lost my dad, it made me cry.
